Surgery in Linz – Operations for Small Animals

Recent advances in veterinary surgery have been remarkable, with many surgical procedures from human medicine now adapted for animal care. Whether it’s orthopedic, abdominal, ENT surgery, or oncology, our experienced team will guide you through the latest options and treatments available.
We prioritize gentle and safe anesthesia, as well as complete pain management, both during and after surgery, to ensure the best recovery for your pet.
Individual Consultation and Thorough Preparation
We take the time to carefully assess and recommend the most appropriate surgery for each patient. Every step of the procedure is thoroughly discussed with you, ensuring that you fully understand the treatment options. Before any anesthesia, every animal undergoes a thorough examination to minimize risks. For animals over eight years old or those with existing health conditions, we recommend additional laboratory tests such as blood chemistry, hematocrit, and urinalysis. If a higher anesthesia risk is detected, further tests like X-rays or ultrasounds are performed to tailor an individualized anesthesia plan.

Modern Anesthesia and Monitoring – Standards Comparable to Human Medicine
Our anesthesia protocols adhere to the highest standards, comparable to those in human medicine. All surgeries take place in a state-of-the-art operating room. Anesthesia is induced with intravenous injection and maintained with inhalational anesthesia. We use Isoflurane, a highly effective anesthetic gas also used in human medicine, which ensures a safe and effective anesthesia experience.
During surgery, your pet’s vital signs are continuously monitored, including ECG, pulse oximetry (monitoring blood oxygen levels), and capnometry (monitoring carbon dioxide levels in exhaled air). Pain medication is administered before and during the procedure to ensure a smooth and stress-free recovery.
Postoperative Care and Collaboration with Specialized Clinics
If a surgical procedure is beyond our capabilities, we work closely with selected specialist clinics. After consulting with you, we will refer your pet to the appropriate facility. Postoperative care is then provided by us, ensuring that your pet is cared for in a familiar and comfortable environment.
If you have any questions about the procedure or other services, please don’t hesitate to contact our small animal surgery clinic in Linz—we're happy to help!
